Those two combined keep the 'native feel' but improve the gameplay signifigantly.Īlthough if you don't mind massive changes to ingame systems like what floris and silverstag do, than I reccomend Blood and Steel 1.5, which keeps the native map and basic play, but adds a ton of items, such as early firearms and explosives, and a few factions, as well as adding a 'class' system, which changes the early game signifigantly with each different choice of class.
Diplomacy adds a ton of depth to the political aspect, as well as a ton of anti-frustration features, and PBOD (Pre-Battle Orders and Deployment) allows you to actually use tactics beyond simply placing troops. If you want an 'improved native' your best bet would be Diplomacy or Diplo+PBOD. That issue is uncommon, but it does occur for some folks. Both floris and Silverstag (I havent played silverstag in a while so ymmv) make sweeping changes, and (in my opinion) completly crap on balance of the nations and equipment, especially in their handling of cavalry and ranged equipment. If you run into an issue where WSE says it cannot find mb_warband_old.exe (or mb_warband.exe or mb_warband_dedicated.exe) then copy all of the files in the WSE folder over into your main warband folder where the game's application is and that will resolve it. On an initially started game you won't likely see this unless you use 'L' to view the game log as it will already be hidden from view.
Both of these folders need to be placed within the " Modules" folder of your main warband application. You'll now have two folders, " Silverstag" and " WSE v3.2.0".Cinematic includes more graphic updates while the basic version keeps them lighter for older computers.
Download either the basic or cinematic version of the mod for v0.23.Make sure you change out your entire mod folder! Source files for v26r237 are included. The ‘Cinematic Version’ is intended for stronger computers that can handle better graphics.
